Gidday! I'm Jo, Owner of KiwiCakes Manchester.

I hail from the 'Land of The Long White Cloud', Hobbits, the Haka, Jandals, Pavlova (yes, it's ours!) and Kiwis (the Bird and the Fruit!), but more recently, I call Manchester home.

My baking journey started as a little girl, watching my Mum make cakes for various events and celebrations, blissfully unaware that I would also be following in her footsteps many years later.

​

I've been fortunate to spend a lot of my adult life travelling and living in different countries, this has definitely helped me to adapt and be flexible in situations and to understand a lot of different cultural backgrounds.

KiwiCakes was born out of necessity - a hobby that was getting a little out of control with friends constantly asking me to make their cakes, birthday cakes and celebration cakes, so I took the plunge, made a Facebook page ('meh! I can just delete it if it's a flop, eh?') and then BOOM! the orders started coming.

From many years living in Germany, i'm a stickler for doing things right, so soon afterwards I got myself registered with Trafford Council, obtained my 5* Food Hygiene Rating and also got PL Insurance. 

​

For people who know me, you will know that I will bend over backwards to help you if needed - and I apply this mentality to my business too.

If you find yourself in a pickle and need a cake urgently, I will do everything in my power to accommodate your request. I do not charge extra for short notice, and know that if I do say No, it is because I cannot physically do it for the time you need it. *sad face*

My cakes are all individual - I don't generally make the same cake twice, so you will be sure that you are getting a bespoke creation, made with your specific requests in mind. I love quirky, out of the box ideas that push the limits and am happy to try almost anything! You are welcome to send through pictures of other cakes for inspiration, but do not expect a copy - that's not my bag, baby.

If you have allergies, fear not...I get it. I am a stickler for being uber clean and careful, so EVERYONE can enjoy my bakes! I can cater to most requirements, but please refer to my Allergies page for further details before you order.
